TinyLife, the premature baby charity makes a splash as Kurt Walker, Northern Ireland’s latest professional boxer becomes an ambassador to help raise awareness of premature birth & vital funds for the charity.
The charity provides a wide range of support services for families of premature and sick babies who start life in a neonatal unit, including a breast pump loan service, hospital-based support, baby massage, tiny gym, parents support group and baby sensory room service. The Charity supports research and policy developments and advocates for the needs of families with premature babies.
Kurt says, ‘I am privileged to become an Ambassador for TinyLife charity, my daughter Layla was born in May 2020 during the first Covid-19 lockdown, 12 weeks early weighing just 800g, which is slightly more than a bag of sugar. TinyLife were a great support to me and my partner Ria, this is my way of giving back and showing my support’.

As one of Northern Irelands champion boxers he will be able help us raise much needed funds and share his personal journey of having a premature baby to encourage others to seek help from TinyLife”
In addition to Kurt becoming a TinyLife ambassador, his local boxing club, Canal Boxing based in Lisburn have chosen TinyLife as their charity partner for 2022.
Kurt is launching the ‘Leprechaun Dips’ two cold water events taking place this year!

Kurt Walker
Kurt Walker is a local boxer from Lisburn. He has achieved medals in the European Championships, European Games, Commonwealth Games and most recently represented Ireland in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. After many successful years, Kurt announced on 10th November 2021, he is turning professional, his first fight as a professional boxer will take place in London on 26 February and will air live on Sky Sports TV. Kurt most certainly seems to be following in the footsteps of the Irish boxing legends who came before him.
