The Premature Baby Charity for Northern Ireland

Family Support Officer Jill Trimble takes on 32 miles for the 32 days her twins spent in NICU!

Jill Trimble, a dedicated Family Support Officer at TinyLife, is set to run in the Belfast Half Marathon on September 22nd, fueled by a deeply personal mission. Jill’s twins, Perry and Emmy, were born prematurely at just 30 weeks and spent 32 days in the neonatal unit. Their challenging start to life inspired Jill to take on a series of four races this year, covering a total of 32 miles—each mile representing a day her twins spent in the NICU.

Jill is now gearing up for the Belfast Half Marathon, the final race of her journey. As she prepares to cross the finish line, she hopes to raise awareness and much-needed funds for TinyLife, Northern Ireland’s premature baby charity.

Reflecting on her motivation, Jill shares, “Nothing could’ve prepared me for this journey, and I found myself feeling and experiencing every emotion possible every day. TinyLife supported us from the early days and quickly normalized the emotions I felt. Speaking to other mums that ‘just got it’ made this difficult journey much easier, and with their support, I never felt alone. I’m fortunate to experience both sides of the work that TinyLife does. As a mum, I know how valuable the work is in providing a safe, peer-led environment for parents.”

Jill’s passion for TinyLife and its mission is evident in her commitment to running and raising funds. TinyLife provides essential support and resources to families of babies born too soon, too small, or too sick, helping them navigate the challenges of neonatal care and beyond.

Let’s come together to cheer Jill on and support her efforts! Donations can be made through the link below to help Jill reach her fundraising goal and to contribute to the incredible work TinyLife does for families across Northern Ireland.
