Brannigan Family raise a massive £5,000

Mickey and Margaret Brannigan from Castlewellan wanted to support TinyLife as their daughter Anthea had been born at 29 weeks weighing just 2lb 10oz.

Margaret commented 'TinyLife is a charity close to my heart, all those years ago when we had Anthea there was no support for parents of premature babies.  We wanted to do something special for TinyLife to recognise the work they do with mums and dads of premature and sick babies.

We are delighted to have raised over £5,000, but it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our family and friends.  The flag day held in Castlewellan raised a massive £2,185.83, we collected black bags full of clothes, the boys took part in Operation Sixpack Challenge and of course we have a sense of achievement having climbed Slieve Donard.  A huge thanks to everyone who supported us.’

Mickey said ‘We hope to do a steam engine rally from Castlewellan to Dublin next summer, once again we will be supporting TinyLife so keep your eye on the Mourne Observer and the TinyLife website for further details’.
